The Barat Youth Initiative is proud to introduce The Creation Nation: a campaign to further our efforts to promote self sufficiency and empowerment through the arts.  Children and students of all ages, artists, teachers, mentors, and volunteers from all walks of life create, learn and grow together.  We invite you to become a member of the Creation Nation and make a stand for the power of art to transform young lives and communities and march with us on October 23rd.

We fervently believe that our greatest natural resource is our children.  It is their resiliency and creativity that will form our collective future.  As members of the Creation Nation, we are passionate about creating platforms for their unique voices to grow and develop with an understanding of their social responsibilities to their communities, and one another.

Over the past 15 years, the Barat Foundation Youth Initiative has developed a unique experiential based educational methodology based on the multiple intelligences our inner-city students demonstrate.  This art based approach to learning, summarized as “Exposure – Experience – Expression”, provides youth with tools to overcome adversity, and develop their own unique creative voice.
